Take Off

Socialized Travel Recommendations

Take Off aims to socialize travel. The app will provide travel recommendations to users based on their existing social networks.

I worked with their team to develop the user experience, user interface, visual design, and a clickable prototype aimed at user testing and fundraising.

The prototype aims to help the Take Off team gather initial feedback from users and potential investors. The focus of the app is to provide travel recommendations based on where people have traveled in the user's network.

The primary goal of the prototype is to show the process of booking a hotel that a a friend has recommended. Competitive research showed apps such as Hotel Tonight, Hitlist, and Jetsetter to be providing curated travel experiences. These apps, amongst others, helped guide the design methodology.

The prototype displayed to the right was created using Invision. It is fully functional.

App Map / User Flow

Before diving into design, I created a document that outlined the key interface and interaction requirements. These included the required screens for design, content requirements for each screen, and documentation of the primary user journeys.
